[Earthquake in Japan] Yonex' situation
We would like to express our heartfelt sympathies to the victims of the March 11 earthquake that devastated the Tohoku region of Japan. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy and we sincerely hope for a quick recovery of these areas.
The entire staff at Yonex is safe, including all personnel in the Sendai office. There was minor damage at the Sendai office; fortunately, with the electricity up and running, they are able to conduct business.
As for the factories in Niigata, they are running a normal production schedule and will not have any delays in delivering products. The Tokyo factory is working in accordance with the rolling blackout schedule announced by the Tokyo Electrical Power Company and will have products delivered with minimal delays.
Yonex has been contributing to the earthquake relief efforts and will continue to assist in whatever effective way possible. It is our utmost desire to see those affected by this disaster to live their lives as normally as possible and to give them hope through the enjoyment of sports.
SHB-SC5EX Shank Part Design
We would like to inform you about the design for the shank part of YONEX Badminton shoes, SHB-SC5EX.
You would find some black dots at the shank part of SHB-SC5EX, and some of you might think this is a bit weird design.
We use the stiffer TOUGHBRID at the shank part of the midsole to support the foot and keep it stable during high-impact footwork.
Since we would like to show the shoes "STRONG" and "POWERFUL", we have inserted the black particles in TOUGHBRID material to remind people STRONG 'STONE' and 'ROCK' by its design.
Contract with Chinese Taipei Soft Tennis Association and National Team
On August 7th, 2010, YONEX signed a contract with Chinese Taipei Soft Tennis
Association and Chinese Taipei national team as the official equipment
sponsor. We had a press conference at national team training center in
Taipei.
Chinese Taipei national team has been named as a leading team in the
world and they just won the title of the Chinese Cup before upcoming big
tournament, the Asia games.
YONEX will support to expand Soft Tennis players population and contribute
to Soft Tennis’s sport level.
Counterfeit Information on Website
There are many imitations of YONEX equipment found on internet auction sites. Many of them are crude copies that break easily injuring you or causing damage to your surroundings.
Counterfeit racquets are not covered by our product warranty. We are constantly trying to reduce the availability of YONEX counterfeit products however products still appear on the internet so please take extra care.
In the information, you can see some examples of the differences between genuine and counterfeit racquets.
They are only the examples, because there are various of counterfeits.
As well as racquets there are many examples of counterfeit clothing, shoes and strings.
Racquet Hall of Fame built
At Yonex Tokyo, the Racquet Hall of Fame was constructed. There are former tennis and badminton player’s racquets.
We do appreciate for many cooperation to collect these racquets, such as ones used by Navratilova, Hartono, medalists of the Beijing Olympics and other famous players.
We built this hall at 7th floor, a founder honorary president’s office.
